Ian Watkins was born May 8, 1976, in Llwynpia, Rhondda, Wales, but is better known as 'H'. Before joining Steps, he worked as a redcoat for Butlins holiday parks.
Claire Richards was born on 17 August 1977, in Hillingdon, Middlesex), and is most famous for being known as 'the best vocalist' in the hit band Steps. Before Steps, Claire started life in the short-lived band TSD. They had two minor hits, 'Heart and soul' and 'Baby I love you' but were dropped soon after the release of the second single. Claire went back to temping, before being conviced by her sister to audition fo STEPS...

Steps split in 2001, Claire & H joined forces and became H & Claire releasing 3 top 10 singles, 'DJ', 'Half a heart' and the double a-side 'All out of love/Beauty and the beast', then the album 'Another you another me'.
Unfortunately the album didn't reach the chart position it deserved and H & Claire took time out and subsiquently went onto solo projects.
Claire married former Steps dancer, Mark Webb and focused on her personal life, while Ian went in to the hit west end musical, 'Joseph and the technicoloured dreamcoat'. In 2004 Ian started filming the reality TV show, H side story for channel 4. H side story showed the trials and tribulations of Ian as he went to study musical theatre at the Royal Academy.
H how owns his own production company, and is now touring the country with Joseph, a role he loves.
Claire has since split up with Mark, and has recently started work on her own solo material, it is still unknown when or if we'll get to hear it.
