Hand Made are a rock band from Exeter that fuses the speed and energy of punk with the depth and intensity of metal. With influences such as Hundred Reasons, System Of A Down, Alkaline Trio, Rise Against and The Foo Fighters, the band have a raucous, hardcore-tinged live sound whilst maintaining an unambiguous clarity.

Hand Made are about performing excellent music that points people to God. The band want people to know that they're Christians and to enjoy their music for all that it's worth. This means the songs are very real and relevant because they're an honest expression of who they are.

Hand Made are:

Jon Parsons - Vocals, guitar

Sam Johns - Guitar, vocals

Robert Kelly - Bass, vocals

Dave Pegg - Drums, vocals

The band have been together since 2003 and during that time they have been busier than they imagined. Whilst holding down full-time jobs, the band have played many gigs in and around Devon and at Greenbelt festival 2005. The band are all committed Christians and want to actively support Christian events for young people. They regularly feature in local city-wide Christian youth events but at the same time they aim to play as many gigs in secular venues. To date they have played several times at the local Cavern club as well as supporting Christian bands - Quench, Superhero and SuperVision. The band are also involved in promoting and showcasing local young bands in The Portal events held at the Cavern Club in Exeter.

In December 2004 the band released their 8 track mini-album - Fear of Falling on Mad Borris Records and were supported by an enthusiastic 100-strong crowd of local young people at the launch event. More recently the band have released 2 new singles.

Hand Made continue to play regularly at a variety of venues and remain committed to delivering distinctive and energetic rock music consistent with their Christian faith.

Coombeshead Studios

Jun 12 2008 12:03 PM

Coombeshead Studios are now looking to take on summer 2008 recording slots. If you are in a band and need a professional recording, we offer sessions at just £12.50 an hour on weekdays and £20 an hour on evenings (after 6pm) and weekends. All this paid time can be spent recording - mixing and editing can be done afterwards at no extra charge. If you wish to arrange a session, please message us and we will give you a list of available dates. Check out our top friends for examples of the recording quality, and the ’music’ section to see who we have worked with!

We also offer CD duplication at between 75p and £1.50 per CD for most requirements. This gets you a case, a print directly onto the CD face (no stickers!) and inlays. Contact us with your requirements for a quote.
Recordings do not have to be made at Coombeshead to qualify for this offer - if you already have recordings let us know and we can provide duplication for you!

We would like to thank all the bands who supported Coombeshead Studios during 2007. It was our busiest year ever at just short of 100 bands, and allowed us to spend several thousand pounds on some major upgrades, launching us from a low budget studio to a fully professional setup. We continue to offer our low budget prices but offer a greater flexibility of control and greatly improved quality!

Hi there

As part of the ever growing Eyes on Exeter project, we have launched a new online magazine called HYSTERIA; which is dedicated solely to the Exeter Music Scene. Issue 1 is out now and is available exclusively for free through the Hysteria website. The first edition is completely free as an introduction to the project, and future magazines will always be dirt cheap, including some exclusive materials as often as we can get our hands on them!

The main feature for the May 2006 edition is THE RUBY TUESDAYS, and the magazine also has a free download of them performing "Losing It" live a the Three Fat Fish last month. The mag also has features on DRIVECHAIN and LG22, as well as CD and Track reviews of RESONATE, SAPPHIRE, THE CLIMB and RADIO FRIENDLY. Two live reviews of OCHRELANE and ROCK THE SCHOOL, plus a lot more!

Hope that you enjoy the read, and hopefully I will be featuring you in a future edition! Please take a second to download and help spread the magazine by clicking on the link below, all help and feedback is much appreciated!
