Hand of Onan is a 3 piece band with Wally "Sir Wallace" Campbell on bass and vocals, Ted Wood working his magic on guitar and Jeff Barnard on the drums. Wally and Ted are both veterans of the Denton music seen. Wally spent 12 years with the sleazy country/rock act Cornhole with whom he still plays on occasion. Ted logged his time touring internationally with Brutal Juice as well as playing with the Banes and Clutch Cargo. Jeff Barnard is product of the UNT music school where he studied Marimba which is sometimes incorporated into the acoustic set. Musical influences are too numerous to mention. Hand of Onan musically flies between punk, country and indie rock with an emphasis on the lyrics which weave twisted tales of a dysfuntional American landscape. Tongue in cheak charcter studies of drunks, stoners, rednecks, retards, punks, Jesus freaks, cripples and everyday people are peppered throughout HOO's growing catalog of Texicana* music.
Texicana is not yet a recognized sub-genre but when it is remember you saw it here first.
