It’s hard for Hands Solo to find a spare minute to enjoy the sweet things in life. The busy spin doctor plays over a 100 gigs a year, produces beats for Switzerland’s Rap elite, does a monthly guest mix for London’s Kiss100 Radio, has a critically acclaimed worldwide released EP with Philly rap legend Maylay Sparks under his belt and creates genre-smashing DJ sets that are unmatched in his home country of Switzerland. National Austrian Radio FM4 called his latest mix a ‘unique piece of art’. His diversity led him to open up for Enrique Iglesias in front of 6000 ecstatic fans. He played the official Euro 2008 afterparty in front of 4000 football enthusiasts and was handpicked for a private Bryan Adams showcase in Zurich and this as a “traditional HipHop DJ” per se. He shared the stage with living legends such as Grandmaster Flash, DJ Premier, Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, Tony Touch, DJ Scratch and Super Producer Mark Ronson among others. Hands Solo played corporate events for Nike, Carhartt and Motorola and appeared in big publications such as XXL and Elemental Magazine.
With over 10 years of experience, a vast knowledge of music and a huge record collection the former record store owner never fails to amaze the crowd with his unique approach to djing, blending all sorts of dancefloor filling HipHop, RnB, Disco, 80s, House, Electro and Rock goodies together. No wonder that the boy not only has a serious portfolio of residencies in some of Switzerland’s finest places (Kaufleuten, Amber, Mascotte, Labor Bar besides a three-year-long residency at the former hip hop mecca UG Club), but that club-owners entrust him with more than just playing the music - they actually give him his own club-nights these days: Since summer ’08, Zurich’s Club Indochine, one of the world’s finest clubs that does not only host an exquisite list of guests but also stands for a levied clubbing experience, relies on the music’s advocate once a month to create one of the best club nights Switzerland has ever seen. The event’s name: LUX. And yes, it does stand for one of the few lights in a branch of entertainment that provides you with more dark than bright. So if you feel like you're in desperate of good music, no sweat: Hands Solo will come to the rescue. Clark Kent style, that is.
