Half-handed Cloud is an interesting phenomenon. John Ringhofer, the man behind the namesake, is as joyful and frugal as his music. An economical thinker, Ringhofer prefers the subway over a taxicab, is a recycler of plastic, a compulsive note-taker, and a habitual optimist. He doodles in the margins of paperbacks, carries a couple different colored pens, and continues to use an antiquated CD walkman. When not on tour he lives in Berkeley California & works as a part-time custodian. Half-handed Cloud is able to ensconce complicated theological concepts into playground song without condescending to his subject or to his listener.

I feel bad. I just realized that your show was this Friday. I ended up having to work late on Friday again. I wouldn't have been able to make it but I wish I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any video of it?
I have been encountering the evil one in my life in many ways. Unrelenting. I think I now have the strength of God to help me through all of what I have been facing for the past few years. I am strong enough to carry love with me wherever I go. I wrote a song on Sunday which I think explains what I have been going through. Its called "I talked To God This morning". You can listen to it along with all of the other songs I have written on my website. I have a player created by Soundclick.com I put all of the songs I have written since I got this laptop in 2004. Please listen to it. It is the very first song in the player. My songs there are ordered in chronological order from the most recent to the oldest. Its best when listened with a headphone because the bass is hard to hear on a laptop. Anyways.. I love you and what you are doing. I feel like I now really want to go down the same kind of path. Please pray for me that I can be more positive and filled with love no matter what. I am praying for a slew of new very positive songs to come out of this.
is there any chance in the world you might make it through to the southeast?? atlanta, new orleans,Tallahasse, Pensacola , i would travel to any of these places to see you play, wich would be amazing
I'll be in the UK while you are touring! Please tell me that you will be coming to the UK on this tour at some point this fall! If not, I will be very sad and will have to do my best to get back to the states for just a weekend.
Showing some appreciation from North Carolina. You are one of the few defined writers that keep lit the flame inside me that wants to keep writing music! Much love, and hope to see you in North Carolina soon!
Hey John, so excited for the "new" record. I've tried to get my hands on all these songs, and have a lot, but it will be great to have them all one on disc. Hopefully you'll come around to Indiana again so we can come see you again. Last time was at the Art Hospital in Bloomington with Lake and Vollmar. Hope all is well jb
