Pride and Plot of Pointlessness, or, the Betrothal of Euphemia Waterfowl, the Stupidest Girl in the Whole of England—at Christmastime!
Written by Jim Robinson and Shanan Wexler; Music by Dennis Curley.
This delightful romp through Georgian England is a parody of Jane Austen so sincere, it’s almost an homage. Come join Darcy and Elizabeth and meet the Eggbrew family—the domineering matriarch, the absent patriarch, and four daughters of varying marriageability; the gun-toting Captain Wetmusket; hapless Hewitt Thistlethwait and his overbearing aunt, Lady Alethia; and of course, Euphemia Waterfowl, the Stupidest Girl in the Whole of England.
A runaway hit at the 2006 Brave New Workshop Summer Series, this show has been brought back due to popular demand, and will be running in rep with Joseph Scrimshaw’s hit holiday play Fat Man Crying through the month of December.
