About HANGMÁS

Funeral parties in endless nights: suggestive stage presence, noise and chaos rotated with calm and cold grooves. A load of unusual sound effects with sweeping drum and bass-guitar rhythms. Scratchy guitars, mixed with a massive wall of synthesized sound. All of which is topped off with the singer's slogan like lyrics...

One might find it rather difficult to place Hangmás in any specific genre. Nevertheless, we can still discover influences of disco-electro-punk, new wave and garage rock. Since their first gigs, the band became famous for their frantic concerts; audiences are blown away by their genuinely explosive performances.

Hangmás released their debut album Funeral Party Budapest in October 2007, which was warmly welcomed by the critics and the growing audience as well. They have launched their first video clip for the song "We are modern" on the Hungarian Music Television and reached the 5th place on the MTV Top50 selection. We are modern also became one of the hit songs on the French Transmusicales Festival, where Hangmás played in 2008. Apart from this, the band often plays in Vienna and other European festivals and venues.

In October 2008 Hangmás started recording their second LP (Valaki ma este megsérülhet/Someone may get hurt tonight), which will be released in autumn of 2009. Meanwhile they've shot their second video for the song CopyPaste in Prague with the Bohemian director Simon Safranek who directed and produced their first video as well.
