About me: HANK CASH ist weiter gereift. Nach zweieinhalb Jahren mit zahllosen Gigs in Deutschlands lässigsten Musik-Clubs oder auch nach dem Glanzstück auf dem Luzerner „Blue-Balls-Festival“ vor mehreren Tausend Zuschauern keine Überraschung. Doch HANK CASH wären nicht sie selbst, wenn sie sich nun auf den Erfolgen ausruhen würden. Im Gegenteil: Die Herren Johnny Erle (Vocals/Acoustic-Guitar), Jay B. Strike (Bullfiddle) und Handsome Cash (Lead Guitar/Lapsteel) fangen mehr und mehr Feuer und präsentieren als gewachsene Live-Band bei jedem Auftritt ihre wachsende Spielfreude.
Der musikalische Fundus des Trios basiert auf jahrelanger musikalischer Erfahrung der Musiker, so daß HANK CASH die Kraft der frühen Sun-Records-Aufnahmen eines jungen Mr. Cash und den leichten Country-Swing des Großmeisters Hank Williams bereits bei ihrem Bühnendebut im Sommer 2006 in höchst authentischem Maße live abbilden konnten. Der im November 2006 von 20th Century Fox und Sony BMG verliehene Titel „Deutschlands beste Johnny Cash Tribute Band“ kommt also nicht von ungefähr.
Und das Trio aus Frankfurt/Tennesse ist dabei natürlich nicht stehengeblieben. Heute hauchen HANK CASH den Klassikern einer Zeit, in der Musikstile wie Country, Rockabilly und Rock’n’Roll untrennbar vermengt waren, mehr denn je einen einprägsamen und eigenständigen Atem ein. Und sind damit in ihrem Genre praktisch eine Klasse für sich. Von Gig zu Gig haben die drei Sound-Puristen auf klassischer Basis ihren höchsteigenen Stil entwickelt und zelebrieren aktuell ein 2-stündiges Live-Programm nicht nur für „Szene-Kenner“, sondern auch für das breite Publikum, das mehr und mehr den authentischen Reiz handgemachter Musik wiederentdeckt.
Folgerichtig beschränken sich HANK CASH längst nicht mehr nur auf Interpretationen von Country-Klassikern der Granden Cash und Williams, im Programm befinden sich u.a. auch genrenahe Songs von Bruce Springsteen, Wayne Hancock oder den Stray Cats. Seit Veröffentlichung des aktuellen Albums „HANK CASH“ im Dezember 2007 präsentieren die Jungs nunmehr live und in gewohnter Klasse auch stilechte Kompositionen aus eigener Feder, die auch in der einschlägigen Presse besonders erwähnt wurden.
