Hannah Enenbach: vocals, other vocals, keyboard, even more vocals, pretend strings, accidental background sniffles and pops, and drowned out guitar chords.
I work alone. I work virtually silently. I seal my windows and sing at the bathroom wall instead of at the outside wall and hope that no one is walking by outside. I use headphones and muffle the hammer sound of my keyboard. I don't play any songs for anybody unless they've proven that they couldn't care less about whether I showcase my songs, collaborate with a producer, or become famous.
I just like singing. That's all. I like harmony, and layering vocals on surprise takes with no preparation and then something magically emerging that's hard to replicate on paper or analyze in a music theory class. When you were classically trained as a tiny little kid you just sort of like stuff like that. It feels like jumping on the bed when your parents aren't home, or eating an entire tin of hidden cookies.
Some have questioned me: 'If you're REALLY recording in there when you say you are, then how come I've never heard any music come out of you?'
