The Blind Love E.P was recorded over 3 days in Dale Cotton’s Audioworkshop in beautiful St Leonards, Dunedin. Produced by Cotton, this 5 track record is Hannah Curwood’s second release, following her critically acclaimed debut album Sky Above Horse Below in July 2007.
Curwood’s sensual, eerie voice nestles comfortably amongst lush backing vocals as she explores her unique brand of alternative pop. Graceful, poetic song-writing is complimented by it’s setting amongst fiercely melodic guitar, piano, glockenspiel and haunting musical saw.
A core band of Hannah Curwood, guitarist Tom Healy was fleshed out by performances from Verlaines members Graeme Downes and Dale Stedman, Dale Cotton and the wonderful girls from Dunedin sensation Haunted Love, Rainy McMaster and Geva Downey.
With a live lineup comprised of acoustic and electric guitars, double bass, violin, piano, percussion and a plethora of backing vocals, Hannah and band weave a delicate balance between melodic pop and something darker and more ambient at their shows.
Hannah has recently contributed backing vocals to new Dimmer record Degrees Of Existence and the latest release from The Checks, Alice By The Moon.

The interview will air on Plains FM 96.9 (Christchurch) on 12 September. Can be heard online as well. If you send me your email, I'll send you an mp3 of the interview after it airs.
I'll also be writing a Cd review and featuring you on the NZWAC site in September.
So i just wanted to make you all aware that I've just recently released my New Debut Album "Native Planet," for FREE download at www.deliciousmusic.co.nz/invadertron
In this work I've attempted to explore sonic-scapes and habitats, using mental imagery and emotions to express places that can only be imagined. Trudging through dark valleys, windswept hillsides and gaping horizons. Past forgotten civilizations in the deep green,. Then to rest in a place of quiet solitude.
thanx! can't listen to your music at the moment 'cos i'm back to dial-up for a week but i will as soon as i'm running nice and fast again. looking forward to hearing what you and rebekah are doing too. come down and play dunedin and chch with me and my band, it'll be cool.
So yeah, Prince William's agent/publicist/PR guy/whatever called us or rather called the head of our label, Sailor Mouth Records, to ask if we could play at some royal thing in a few months and we asked him for a dollar.
Anyway, there's a music video coming up very soon for three of our newest songs and there are also two new songs coming before the end of this coming week. An olm is a creature that lives in caves under Slovenia and is pretty much a glorified eel-it has no eyes but has little hands, for no apparent reason. The people who first discovered them thought they were baby dragons. Yesterday I watched TV.
