Hannah Thiem...violinist and vocalist of Copal, Nyxyss, and the Cyanide Valentine and performs as a soloist with DJs in New York, Boston, and San Francisco. Hannah accompanied hip hop icon Kanye West in New York (MSG) and in Boston where they opened for The Rolling Stones. She is a resident at NYC's Church and CoSM. Hannah has studied classical, world, and jazz, with specific emphasis on Middle Eastern, Eastern European, Nordic, and Spanish Gypsy traditional styles. With her bands Copal, Nyxyss, Cyanide Valentine, or alongside DJs spinning dubstep, glitch-hop, or brokenbeat, Hannah's inspired melodic sense stirs both deep emotions and dancefloors.
Hannah recorded on Irma Thomas' Grammy-nominated 2008 release "Simply Grand". The Rounder Records CD features Hannah Thiem (violin), Nathan Cohen (violin), Patricia Doucette (viola), and Kristen Miller (cello) for the new Bacharach tune "What Can I Do?"

The sound is lush and compelling, exploring the more melodic aspects of dub step, idm and leftfield hip hop. Their sets are deftly crafted with an expansive sense of journey and and an eye to the dancefloor. Deep, infectious and evocative.

After spending the last month driving 4000 miles around the southwest, I arrived back in Los Angeles to discover that my new album 'Anitya' has been released. Its currently available on amazon, napster and emusic...or you can listen to most of streaming for free on reverbnation.com/tullymackaytisbert. If you enjoy it I for sure appreciate the support. The album is 10 songs that involve the idea of anitya in Buddhism that all things are impermanent. The album is acoustic folk rock that also integrates traditional east asian sounds and uses the chinese lute the pipa. Thank you for listening!
