www.vinylpuppet.com ****: "This is by far one of the gems I have come across in my search for good music ... great and overflowing lyrical content."
I have been writing music since the age of 10, heavily influenced by traditional folk songs such as those sung by Leadbelly and Woody Guthrie. As an early teen I picked up my dad's old beat up guitar from his hippie days at Berkeley, and let all that melancholy from crazy new hormones and a room that nobody could make me tidy pour into songs. After a while the old angst marathons eased up a bit and although I still write the odd song about how the world has wronged me, overall I'm looking at the world through slightly pinker shades. When I get my ass together to actually write new songs, I hope this will come through. A song that doesn't make my parents cry would be nice.
Writing music continues to be a part of my life, but I've put it on a back burner to working as an ecologist. I've just graduated from Edinburgh University so my time is mostly spent looking for jobs and figuring out how to make the rent. When I am more secure, I would like to acquire a multitrack recorder and some more strings and get my writing boots on.
Any bands feel free to add me, I love hearing new music of all genres.
From a recommendation of "Your Fool" on Amie Street: "It's like a flamenco guitar player arguing with his despising ex-girlfriend."
