The name Hanna Pakarinen doesn't need any introduction in Finland. Hanna has stabilized her position as the most succesfull Finnish female solo artist who sings in english. Her career started when she won the first Finnish Idol-competition in January 2004. After that, the 22-year-old girl from Lappeenranta became an idol that almost every Finn knew. There were many people who didn't believe, that this former forklift driver would achieve the position where she is now. Position witch can only be reached by owning such a talent and determination that Hanna and her powerful voice has.
Now, over three years after her career started, Hanna has released three albums. Debut album "When I Become Me" contains five hit singles and sold over 55.000 copies. Second album "Stronger", as its name already describes, presented a new stronger, wiser and grown Hanna. Album was released in autumn 2005 and contains hit singles "Kiss Of Life", beautiful ballad "Damn You" and "Stronger Without You". "Stronger" sold gold and took Hanna to travel around Finland and perform gig after gig. Hannas stagecharisma has made her a wanted live-artist, and she has performed in restaurants and bars across the country, and also in big concerts and small rock clubs.
Stronger-album ended the strong team-work between Hanna and producer Asko Kallonen. It meant that Hanna got more independency and responsibility working with the third album. Hanna gathered herself a new and interesting backround-team and also took her first steps as a songwriter. Hanna has co-written lyrics for five tracks on new album "Lovers". It was released in February 2007 and is almost entirely made by Finnish songwriters. New album is produced by Teropekka Virtanen and Hannu Korkeamaki, A&R is Janne Halmkrona.
In February 17th 2007 Hanna took part in Eurovision Song Contest Finnish trials, where Hanna and her song "Leave Me Alone" was voted to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Helsinki on May 12th. When Hanna won the Finnish trials, she also took a step towards her next goal: her first release in abroad. The journey continues and the road is again a little more wider.
