About me:

I am passionate about photography and have a love of live music.
Whenever possible I am found frequenting the clubs in Austin photographing the bands and trying to capture the emotion that they put into their performances. In addition to concert photography I enjoy landscape and wildlife photography. There is nothing that compares to capturing the first rays of sunlight illuminating a herd of bison in Yellowstone. I first used a computer in the early eighties when I learned to program COBOL on punch cards but it wasn't long before I was hopping nodes on ARPANet and getting sent to the principals office for hacking into the school's computer system. I went on to work in the Network Security Group at Cisco Systems. Before the internet I was a sysop for a large multi-user BBS and when the internet did finally hit big it seemed like second nature to me. Today I stay up on all things related to social media and try to stay at the front of the trends. I had been using twitter since the beginning but didn't mind a year and a half later when Ashton and Oprah jumped on the bandwagon. You can find me on most messaging services and social media sites as hanswatson. In 2005 death came for me but I turned it away. I had a stroke and was given only days to live. Last rites were done but I couldn't bear the thought of leaving my family. My daughters would not lose their father. I relearned to walk and regained some of my vision. It taught me to be thankful for what I do have and to follow my passions in life. To spend as much time as I can with those I love.
