  • Bio

Formed April 1988 in the old town of Stockholm when Thomas met Jan at a bar. "Swedish music sucks, let's save it" was the motto. First demo (including covers from Madonna and Billy Bragg as well as own material) took happydeadmen to the Hultsfred festival where success was instant. First single "Silent Sigh City" was recorded soon after and released at the end of 1988. It was the first Swedish indiepop single. Then followed ten years of disappointments and a couple of good moments as a talented but misfortunate band. happydeadmen disbanded in 1999.
