Acerca de mí:

Nawa my name is Happy Frejo, I am Pawnee, Seminole and Xicana from Oklahoma. I am an actress, singer/songwriter/poetess, dancer, teacher and now filmmaker. I have been traveling across the United States to reservations and native communities for over 10 years. My duty is to encourage and plant seed of hope in todays youth so that they gain the ability to achieve their dreams. While connecting to what lies within and go back to who we are as Native people, Survivors. I offer Dance, Youth Theatre and Journaling/Spoken Word workshops as well give a performance using my original music. I do all this because I was called to. It is my duty and will always be a part of my life in one or another. My concern is my Legacy which calls me to pour into the youth of today known as the Seventh Generation. I am for the youth and by the youth. Nothing means more to me in my life right now. Than to see the healing of our people take place. I will do whatever I can to help lower the statistics that are placed on our youth. So with that alittle bit about myself, I am part of a native non-profit organization known as NVISION (www.nvisionit.org) which uses media, arts and culture to empower & encourage today's native youth. I'm a cast member of the Native American Theatrical Production called SPIRIT, The Seventh Fire which is based in New York. I am also a part of Yellowhouse a Native Dance Troupe based in Arizona (where I hoop dance and Fancy shawl for cultural, educational shows). I currently sing in an R&B/Funk/Latin/Old School band known as 'Straight Up' which is also based in Phoenix. I perform along side with my brothers Quese IMC and Shock B which is also known as Culture Shock Camp. I have my own original band as well called HAPPY SOUL PROJECT and I am in the writing process for my first c.d. due out by 2008. When time permits I am busy promoting my short film ....."My Darkest Hour". It is my first but definitely not my last. Stay tuned for the release and distribution of "My Darkest Hour" and other projects to follow thereafter. Also check out www.4real.com to see what NVISION is doing in the 8-part Documentary Series that has been airing in Canada on CTV, MTV & National Geographic (in 166 countries). mvto, Happy Frejo

This film is based on a true story about a young girl who is deeply affected by her parents divorce. Internalizing her emotions she becomes consumed by confusion, hate and unforgiveness towards her mother. As she gets older she copes the only way she knows how by numbing her pain. She eventually hits rock bottom and is faced with ending her life until the unthinkable occurs......

Be on the lookout for the film "My Darkest Hour" showing at an Independent Film Festival near you. For more information on 'My Darkest Hour' please send an email to: happysoulproject@yahoo.com mvto and turahe! happy frejo
