Happy Yess is a community run, not for profit, live original music and arts
venue located at 5 Bennett St, Darwin, Australia.
Open Thursdays 8pm-12am for arty stuff.
Open Fridays & Saturdays 9pm-1am for live, original music.
Drop into the venue and become a member by filling out a form and handing over five bucks. You can then opt to be elected to join the Board of Management and have your say about what happens at Happy Yess. Monthly programs from www.happyyess.com
Arty stuff could include: Visual art exhibitions, spoken word, film, comedy, PING PONG, drum n bass bingo, whatever.
Music includes: Local original Darwin bands, with guests from across the NT, interstate and ocaisionally overseas. Bands might play rock, electronica, reggae, folk, country, death metal, roots, weird experimental, or whatever they please.
The venue exists to provide a place for musicians and artists producing original work to perform.
It normally costs 5 bucks to get in. This pays the bands.
The venue is located at 5 Bennett Street across the road from the
Qantas and ABC buildings in Darwin City. The place is small, but full of
atmosphere, complete with vinyl booths, couches and funky lamps.

Hey guys, just letting ya know that its finally THE SECRET GAME CD LAUNCH coming up this weekend. Our special night will have the band perform with a cool light show, smoke, a projector screen and even a stage to stand on! Come along to The Vic (Smith St Mall) in Darwin on Friday June 12 to join in on the fun with the band. With special guests Terracotta Pigeons + Roy Mackonkey. Free Entry. Bands start 8pm, TSG on at 10pm. …and if you’re not over 18 years old… never fear! THE SECRET GAME are performing the next night on Saturday June 13 at Brown’s Mart Theatre as part of the Colin Simpson Fundraiser Event. Hope to see you there!

im still in japan, get back monday. im organising a big finale for the Happy Yess closing night on saturday 13th december. The Feedback Orchestra will try and destroy the shed out the back of HY using only the power of distortion, feedback and volume. wanna be involved?? come on, it will be heaps of fun!
you will need to bring: 1) an amplifier 2) whatever you plug into it to make noise (guitar, pedals, bass, microphone, drum machine, whatever) 3) a power board that has enough plugs for all your equipment.
Setup time is 5pm on saturday 13th dec at Happy Yess. Lets plug everything in and have a run through to piss of whoever's at the cavenagh on sat arvo. serve them right. Then showtime is 11:30pm saturday night. You can leave your stuff there after setup, ill be there to make sure no one steals anything. (Ive still got a bouncers licence you know...)
For those musically inclined, whatever happens will start in D, so if you are preparing any weirdly tuned giutars/etc think about how they would work with that.
For those of you intent purely on audio destruction, who cares what key its in.
If you could reply to let me know if you are keen, that would be great so i can work out power requirements etc..
