About me:

The inspiration of music dates back to been given the priviledge to grow up close to nature in a fjordlandscape on the north-west of Norway, having the woods, streams and mountains in the backyard so to speak. From there came the love for a broader spectre of music and sounds, with a special relationship towards acoustic instruments and folk music from all over the world.

The hardanger fiddle seen on the picture, has its roots back to the Middle Ages in Norway. It looks similar to a violin, but has ressonating strings and belongs to the bordun type instruments. The oldest preserved hardanger fiddle is from 1651. My fiddle dates back to 1917 and has belonged to my great-grandfather and the family ever after.

Last 14 years I have lived in the norwegian west-coast city Bergen. Almost 250 000 people live here. The liking for hardanger fiddle started when I joined the local group Fjellbekken and met the fantastic fiddle player - Finn Vabø.

Now I amongst other play with the group SantaCecilia and on the song My Burning Flame. Please listen to new recorded music and soon a new cd from Santa Cecilia

Music is love and therefore we need to put the heart into music. One method is using meditation before playing, which is positive for all arts opening a creative process. Pure attention and the inner feeling of soulful music is supported by the balancing of the Sahaja Yoga method. I have practised it since 2000 myself, and feel real balance and peace. Less nervouseness before stage and more joy of in all aspects of life. Please feel free to attend a course where you should be, or feel free to try out online. Already many musicans, artist, composers practise it. No commercial interests are involved. The best things in life are free! Enjoy a meditation at:

..

Who I'd like to meet:

Musicians, artists, interesting people, spiritual people and people sharing some of my interests. I choose to pick only profiles where I personally like the music or art. And I always listen through the songs before I add anyone. It takes more time, but then I really know and recognize everyone later. Artists in the field jazz, folk-music, indian classical music and dance, singer-songwriter, violin, guitar are highly appreciated. ....";........

Hey have you seen my latest book?

My New Book: Butterfly Tai Chi: Health, Energy and Tranquility in 10 Minutes a Day

    Description

The author was inspired by observing butterflies to develop a system of Tai Chi that could be performed in a limited space and within a relatively short time. He designed Tai Chi movements that naturally enhance the Qi flow in the order directed by Chinese medicine and whilst it can be used to treat a wide variety of illnesses, its real power is in preventing illness. Succinct and effective the reader can learn this form of Tai Chi within a day and can be performed anywhere -no matter how little space available.

    About the Author

Martin Faulks has been a student of the oriental martial arts since he was five years old. He has a black belt in the Korean martial art, Kuk Sool Won and is proficient in the mystical disciplines of China including Tai Chi, Meditation, Qi Gong and the legendary form of Yi Jin Jing.

You can Buy it at www.martinfaulks.com or www.amazon.com and any good bookshop
