   About The Harbour Lights
Myspace Layouts THE HARBOUR LIGHTS ARE NO LONGER ACTIVE

The Harbour Lights have now finished performing live. Our CDs are still avilable from the links below.

We as a band would like to thank all of you who have so kindly supported us over the 3 years we existed. We really appreciate your kindness and support. If you are interested in what each of the band members are doing now please follow the links below to our individual myspace pages.

The Harbour Lights began life in early 2005 acting as house band for a regular event called Soulcafe at St Pauls Church, Derby. The band was initially based around the skills of songwriters Phil Baggaley and Ian Blythe and the wonderful vocal talent of Bethan Court. The sound of the band has evolved from its acoustic roots with the introduction of Steve Canner on upright and electric bass, Rob Bullock on acoustic and electric guitars and Chris Pearson on drums and percussion, into a wonderful genre defying blend incorporating elements of folk, country and rock. The bands debut album "Leaving Safe Anchorage" was recorded in early 2006 and released in the summer of 2006. At the begining of 2007 they were joined by percussionist Stuart Wood.

"The charm of English acoustic music shines through this six piece group with stunning vocals from Bethan Court" - Mick Peat Folkwaves, BBC in the Midlands

"Bethan Court's striking vocals are incredibly haunting....the songwriting thoughtful and considered....almost spiritual....the lights are shining on" - Emma Shaw, Derby Evening Telegraph

"The Harbour Lights debut on a high, fronted by the quite magical voice of Bethan Court....subtle....considered....intelligent....intimate....the music comes beautifully together....if they are 'live' in your area, you would do well to travel with them. Second best would be to wear out the CD" - Phil Thompson - Crossrhythms

The Harbour Lights second album, Closed For The Winter, is now available. Click the link below to buy it!

If you want to hear more of The Harbour Lights music and find out some more about the band please visit their website at www.theharbourlights.net

That's funny (previous comment from Clay Jars). I wrote a song with the line 'the harbour lights are glowing...' and it's kind of in your style. I think I had been listening to your music when I wrote it.
It's a bit sad though... About dying. But it's called 'Coming home' so actually it is joyful too...
Hope your gig goes well.
Cathy :)

Hi Rob
Well .... you did it then!
We said "maybe we could meet up somewhere", and Bob's your uncle, we're on the same stage at The Robert Ludlam Theatre, Derby on October 12th.

Many thanks for your recommendation to the organisers ........ seems like we're beginning to owe you many pints when we meet up again.

Really looking forward to the concert with you.

All our best wishes

Hi Rob
We owe you big time!!
If not for your suggestion ... well ... pressure!! We'd still be thinking about Myspace and not having just returned from a sell-out two-night visit to Nova Scotia, Canada !!

Many. many thanks for your support and kind-hearted words. We should really try to link up somehow .. somewhere ..

all our best wishes to all the band members,
cheers

I've been hearing great things about your new CD. Something about it being 'better than a porsche in a crowd of pushbikes'. Can't wait to hear the full collection.
