With its unparalleled combination of harbour side location, front row seats to Sydney’s celebrated fireworks and a host of local and international dance music’s latest and greatest sure to get your feet tapping and fingers snapping, Harbour Party NYE is the ultimate destination to usher out 2009 and welcome in 2010.
The roll call of talent that has appeared at the Harbour Party reflects our pursuit of the latest and greatest, brightest and best of the world dance music scene. With a mix of leading headliners, up and coming phenoms and fan favourites, this years line-up is no different. With the growing number of homegrown heroes breaking through on the international stage, we didn’t have to look too far to find who was making a ruckus in 09.
Headliners Pendulum, return to the Emerald City fresh from tearing up Global Gathering UK and the Glastonbury, Download, V, Isle of Wight and T in the Park festivals. Australia’s favourite sons of broken beat sonic mayhem present their DJ set performance currently taking Europe by storm. The group’s original members Rob, Gareth and El Hornet will take the stage with MC Verse to ‘preview’ material from their highly anticipated third studio album as well as dropping their fan favourites. Australian audiences will be the first on earth to sample material from Pendulum’s next studio album featuring the groups original line up, in a no holds barred aural assault.
Also flexing his party starting skills and sure to shake things up, the Ian Carey Project will be bringing his double platinum touch to town, along with his infectious funk flavoured house music sounds, all while rocking his MTV best dance video crown. Aussie new wave wunderkinds Grafton Primary, purveyor of fine beats and bleeps Bass Kleph and psychedelic indie dance dons Lost Valentinos, will also be on deck. Alongside them, card carrying member of the ITM Best DJ award club and notorious cut and paste monster masher Ajax, the disco destroying antics of the always lovely Hoops and Le Tigre’s own dance floor fire starter JD Samson, will all be making sure that it will be out of sight on the night.
Enjoy unlimited rides and the comfort of the safe and spacious Luna Park grounds without your night turning into Survivor; NYE Sydney, where the only thing sure to be eliminated is your patience. Have the fireworks so close that you can smell the smoke, without having to drag enough equipment to set up Everest base camp and seeing your space reduced to standing room only after getting a “good spot”…12 hours earlier.
Unbeatable location to hear some of the biggest dance acts of the year, see the amazing fireworks (twice, if you’re that into it), while enjoying the carnival atmosphere in the safe and secure comforts of Luna Park. No crowds, no hassle, no reason for you not to come and join us. With Harbour Party NYE tickets selling out earlier every year, don’t be disappointed.
