HARCO is the alternative name for Yoshinori Aoki. He started his solo music career as HARCO in 1997. He is not only a SSW, but a multi instruments player plays all keyboards, drums, marimba, and etc.
Recently, he’s got a big break as a commercial songs producer for TV. In fact, in 2005, the CM song called ‘Sekai De Ichiban Ganbatteru Kimini’ for a major car company called Suzuki (the car brand was called ALTO) has became a long-run hit song.
In 2006, the third self-produced album ’Wish List’, and the another album compiled his CM songs called ’Portable Tunes-HARCO CM WORKS’ have been released. This year, he’s also got a smash hit with the CM song called ‘BE MY GIRL’ which was used for a Japanese Major cosmetic company’s shampoo ’Essential’.
2007 was a 10th anniversary year for HARCO, and released the best album ‘PICNICS-BEST OF HARCO 1997-2006’. He has been releasing his original songs, but also he wrote songs for another major artist like YUKI, one of the songs was used as a coupling song for her 14th single release. Apart from his original music work, he’s released a paperback called ‘Mail Koukan Natsuo Giniro(major writer and a poet) x HARCO’ from Kadokawa Publishing. Also he’s became a music producer for TV programme ‘Miracle Mimica’ on NHK(national broadcast service), a collaborated exhibition of music and paintings ‘WILD PICNIC’ with a painter Mayumi Oku. And another music activity with Sukpatch who is based in Minneapolis called a new unit called Harcopatch..
On 5th Dec, the new album ‘Ki CO E RU?(translatable as Can you hear me?)’ will be released. Lots of work will follow.
