So, do I blather on and on about how the early Delta blues is the greatest era of music EVER?!? Well, I won't, but there's a phrase that was coined that says "The music is as rich as the soil"...yep, that's about right.
Check out any of the artists in the slideshow. You won't hear a more raw, human or amazing form of music anywhere.
We play mostly Memphis Minnie tunes, but we also do tunes by Ma Rainey and the Memphis Jug Band, among others.
I lagged last week and thought that I missed you. I also mistook another band I saw last weekend 2X for the Rowdy Kates. I'll be there early this Friday and glad to have 3 bands to look forward to.
Thanks for finding and adding. I meant to look you up a while ago but I've gotten really damn lazy with the net. Looking forward to the show and I gotta say, if you're gonna cover someone, Memphis Minnie is pretty damn good. I know it's an odd poster but I just love that youngsters stare.
Hey, glad to see there are some more classic blues lovers here in Sac. Sorry we have to miss your show though, we're playing at true love this Friday. Keep us posted on more upcoming shows though. hope to here from you soon.
Too kuhl! E PS "kuhl" is the new "kewl". Love you Frannie. You better take a lot of pictures in Australia!!!! I want to see some Koalas, Boalas, Husker Dos, Husker Don'ts and some of those Redback Spiders that Crocodile Dundee was bragging about. E PS: And don't forget the Wallabees!
