guenther k harder was born in bremen, germany in 1977. he is currently an actor at the dortmund theatre where he has appeared in more than 15 productions since 2005. he is also the singer and lyricist of e.a.r, a duo he formed with former drama school mate raphael tschernuth in 2002. e.a.r have released the albums DOSTOJEWSKI TRIP (2002), SMALLTOWN COLLAPSE (2003), NO ONE IS AN ISLAND (2005) and, just recently, SUMMER OF GHOSTS (2008). harder is also the drummer and singer in ROLLOVERMUSIC, a rootsy collective of musicians occasionally getting together in austria and part of the LAST WATERHOLE community. at the dortmund theatre, he not only appears in plays but also as a singer in THE HEART OF TUESDAY NIGHT, a concert series in which he performs a number of favourite songs accompanied by tobias cosler on piano and occasoinal guests. that night is a tribute to the singers and songwriters that influenced him the most, among them van morrison, neil young, jeff tweedy and paul buchanan.
harder started singing in bands at the age of 14 and has also released a couple of cds with TREETONE, a rock band he left in 2004 and which is now active as BLACK NOVA.
