Hard Livin is dedicated to releasing music, documentries and film at the independant level but with a high quality end product. And, unlike other labels/companies we will help other crews/labels out as much as we can so we can turn this 'scene' into an industry. HISTORY Hard Livin was created by Mike-S and S.Kalibre mid 2003 as UTI began to slow down due to members relocating to other parts of the uk. In the last few months Kalibre and Mike have been working hard on the first release for the label, a Hiphop long player entitled The Outlook, this will include all brand new material recorded from september 2003 onwards. Also coming from the label is the Hard Livin Presents UK Hiphop - The Finest Volume 1, a DVD dedicated to promoting the cream of UK Hiphop and will include exclusive freestyles, music videos and much more from the likes of Task Force, Natty N Dwella, Jehst, Wolftown, and many more. Hard Livin' Records Bio (Taken from the Sin Nombre website) The term conscious gets thrown around the hip-hop world like a raggedy old doo rag, but very few actual understand its meaning. Is it A Tribe Called Quest talking about relationships? What about Dead Prez bringing the heat to the crooked politicians? The truth is that its probably a bit of both. Being conscious seems to mean the art of making hip-hop that looks at the world and the society we live in. If thats true then Hard Livin certainly have a conscience. Consisting of lyricist S.Kalibre and producer Mike-S, the group understand how to keep the listener entertained but also use their skills to get a message across. After originally setting up their own UTI Records in 2000, the pair set about getting themselves noticed at a time when the UK scene had once again become stagnant. Gradually the crew grew bigger and an album was completed. Sadly, members of the team began to relocate and the album never saw the light of day. Determined not to give up, Kalibre and Mike decided to create Hard Livin. Since then the group has been receiving much acclaim from the UK scene. S.Kalibres mic skills have lit up many a stage over the past year and Mike-S is fast becoming a very sought after producer. In fact, he has already provided stellar work for Dap-Cs Character Building LP and The Pedigree Chumps Up Norf Hip-Hop Edz EP. It didnt take the Sin Nombre a&r boys long to pick up on the duos success and offer them a deal. First up will be the release of their debut Sin Nombre 12 'THE THINGS WE DO' b/w 'OH GIRL'. We guarantee that you will be hearing a lot from Hard Livin in 2004 and beyond so keep it locked on Sin Nombre HQ.
