HARDONIK (new single out)

“Hardonik” is a restless and solid reality which merges the Arab language with the electricity of rock together with afro, drum and bass and dub flavours.
Hardonik is based in Bologna but speaks many idioms and many dialects: as a matter of fact, the whole thing was born by the encounters of domestic and international migrants.
Genesis in progress:
in the autumn of 2006 Reda Zine_aka Red-A_ arrives in Bologna from Casablanca/Paris, where he founded the collective Café Mira, with the intention of further developing his composition using polyglot lyrics.
He soon meets the drummer Fernando Ferrer, originally from Buenos Aires, the trumpet player, Luca Acquarelli _aka Analfotoluca_ and finally bassist Massimo Tortola _aka punkDandy_ who returned recently from London where he completed his BMus. Towards the end of 2008, the fifth domestic migrant, Gianluca Sia _aka Maestro Gogol_ joined the band bringing his alto sax and mandolin.

With this line-up, in July 2007, they made their debut at the 11th Mondiali Antirazzisti edition hold at Casalecchio di Reno (BO), supported also by Asterisco Radio. They therefore recorded, in September 2007, their first homonym 4 tracks Ep; thanks to this work they won the first edition of second generation Italian contest, Crossmode. This also enabled them to play during Martelive national final at the Alpheus in Rome, in May 2008.
Their open approach to diverse sonorities brought them to play for some important multi-cultural festival such as La settimana del Marocco in Bologna and Festival delle Culture in Ravenna, in 2009.

Amongst the few other contests they decided to do, it is to mention the winning of the special contest 2000 e Zero Watt in the 2009 edition of M.E.I. 2010 is looking promising with the attendance of Elita Festival in Milan and Boulevard Festival in Casablanca, Marocco, one of the biggest north African music festival.
In the summer of 2010, right before the recording of their first single Finger-prints in u.s. airports, on the drummer stool Fernando Ferrer is out and Tore Nobile is in; shortly after that, definitely for other reasons, Analfotoluca is leaving the country to land on Paris, leaving Maestro Gogol the only horn player in charge.
New line-up. New energy. New determination.
Their live shows activity is constant from the 2008 onwards, please also check our pressbook with the most significant shows. Also to mention radio spots/interviews as Demo for Radio Rai 1, Radio Popolare, Radio Città del Capo e Hibrido Web Radio.
They are currently looking for a label/production willing to support this project and in primis the making of their first album.

“Hardonik”è una frenetica e compatta realtà musicale che fonde la lingua araba con l’elettricità del rock, abbracciando sonorità afro, drum and bass e dub. Hardonik è di base a Bologna ma parla molte lingue e molti dialetti: il progetto nasce infatti dall’ incontro di migranti nazionali e internazionali.
Genesi in progress: nell’autunno del 2006 Reda Zine _già Red-A_ giunge a Bologna da Casablanca/Parigi, dove aveva fondato ed era la voce del collettivo Cafè Mira, con l’idea di portare avanti le sue composizioni in testi poliglotti (arabo, francese, inglese e italiano ).
Rapidamente incontra il batterista Fernando Ferrer, originario di Buenos Aires, il trombettista umbro, Luca Acquarelli_già Analfotoluca_ ed infine il bassista Massimo Tortola _già punkDandy_ tornato da poco in Italia dopo aver conseguito il Bachelor of Music a Londra. Alla fine del 2008, il quinto migrante nazionale, Gianluca Sia_ già MaestroGogol_ si aggiunge alla formazione portando il suo alto sax e mandolino.

Con questa formazione, nel luglio 2007, esordiscono live nell’ undicesima edizione dei Mondiali Antirazzisti di Casalecchio di Reno (BO), supportati anche da Asterisco Radio. Registrano quindi a Settembre dello stesso anno, il loro primo omonimo Ep contenente 4 tracce; grazie a questo lavoro vincono la prima edizione del concorso nazionale per i cosiddetti italiani di seconda generazione, Crossmode. Ciò permetterà loro di esibirsi anche durante le finali nazionali di Martelive presso l’ Alpheus di Roma nel maggio 2008.

La loro propensione all’ apertura di diverse sonorità li porta a suonare per importanti festival interculturali, quali La settimana del Marocco organizzata dal comune di Bologna ed il Festival delle Culture di Ravenna, nel 2009.
Tra i pochi altri concorsi a cui decidono di partecipare si segnala la vittoria all’ edizione del M.E.I. 2009 nello speciale concorso 2000 e Zero Watt. Il 2010 si apre egregiamente con la partecipazione al festival Elita di Milano e prosegue con il Boulevard Festival di Casablanca, Marocco, uno dei più grandi festival di musica contemporanea del nord Africa.

Nell’ estate del 2010, poco prima della registrazione del primo singolo, Finger-prints in u.s. airports, si compie l' avvicendamento che vede uscire Fernando Ferrer ed entrare Tore Nobile sullo sgabello della batteria; da lì a poco, ragioni diverse porteranno Analfotoluca a migrare verso Parigi, lasciando il compito dei fiati al solo sax del Maestro Gogol.

Nuova formazione. Nuova energia. Nuova determinazione.

Dal 2008, come si può vedere dal pressbook in allegato con le date più significative, la loro attività live è costante.Tra i passaggi/interviste radio ricordiamo Demo di Radio Rai 1, Radio Popolare, Radio Città del Capo e Hibrido Web Radio.
Sono attualmente alla ricerca di una etichetta/produzione che possa supportare questo progetto ed in primis la realizzazione del loro debut album.
