Influences
Western classical / chamber music; European medieval music; Balkan folk music; Irish traditional music ....
The Hard Times Orkestar (HTO) is an amateur group of friends, colleagues, and neighbours who regularly play music together in one of our homes and occasionally give concerts.
We mainly play compositions by band-member Richard Fay, works which one friend has described as 'ethno-classical" in recognition of the classical and Irish traditional musical influences evident in them.
Further, the 'Orkestar' part of our name hints at a Balkan influence: for us, these Balkan time signatures are indeed 'hard'.
The mp3 file(s) uploaded here are not actual recordings of the band but rather the computer-generated versions created during the composition and arrangement process. However, we hope they give some idea of what they are like.
All enquiries about the band and the compositions should be directed to Richard Fay on: frjfay@aol.com
Hi - I found you through your member page at SibeliusMusic.com - have listened to some of the pieces published there. Can't listen to anything here at Myspace. Music player seems to be missing for the moment.
