Harissa’s roots lie in Tunisia. As a child she was continuously interested in music: At home she organised ‘live performances’ on which she let her brother and sister run up as ‘musical guests’ to make the show complete. She recorded all this on video. Also striking was the fact that at the age of 13, Harissa wrote poetic lyrics which she kept in her diary. This was a talent that she has inherited from her mother.
It was already clear that she was very gifted and that this would stipulate the aim in her life.
She started to collect instrumental versions of her favourite songs and she used these to polish her vocal talent. With these songs she performed in bars and restaurants when she was 18.
Briefly afterwards she was noticed by a radio station which invited Harissa May in its studio for a live show. She found her way to several music events where she was noticed by her current management.
Soon after she got an artist contract. This way she could start her work as a professional artist in several recording studios. For her it was like a dream come true.
Before all, it was decided that Harissa should take the difficult road to creating and recording her own repertoire. In the mean time she learns all the tricks of the profession as an artist.
Gradually she starts writing her own songs and lyrics with her producer.
By now she has grown out to be a professional singer/songwriter/performer.
Later she appears to also have the necessary skills as a choreographer. She finishes the choreography for her own songs with several dancers.
After that, she did some successful gigsand appeared in several television programs in the Netherlands and Tunisia where she’s being interviewed. She also lends her voice to international tv-spots and prepares herself for her first album. This should be released in 2008.

"Don’t you just hate people that are always moaning about their busy life styles or the stresses and strains of life in the rat race, I know I do, or maybe I just dislike the general public? One person that fit’s this bill is OD Hunte, but frankly his attitude and work ethic was a breath of fresh air and offered me an insightful look into the often neglected angles of music.
