About me:

Welcome to The House of Harley-Davidson's Official Myspace Page!
Like the Harley-Davidson Motor Co. our business started as a dream in a small garage…
In 1970 Barry dreamed of owning a Harley-Davidson, but until he could afford one he owned a 650 cc Triumph. Unfortunately his motorcycle was stolen and damaged beyond repair. The optimistic Barry decided that rather than cut his losses with the machine he would use it to build a chopper.
Through his chopper build project he began Barry’s Custom Cycle in a one car garage off Muldoon. By 1971 he sold his new Triumph chopper and had enough money to cover his business license, stationary, paint, a heater for the garage, and a few parts to hang on the freshly painted red white and blue walls. His employer caught wind of this part time business that Barry was running and forced Barry to choose to work for his employer or himself.
Shortly after Barry made the wise decision to work for himself, Harley-Davidson placed an ad in the newspaper looking for a new Alaskan dealer. Barry answered the ad and pursued the franchise rights until 1975 when he was given the franchise and renamed his business The House of Harley-Davidson.
To make a long story short he eventually purchased the stores present location in 1981 and has expanded and remodeled three times since then. Barry has since then opened two other locations, Kenai Peninsula Harley-Davidson Shop in Soldotna and Denali Harley-Davidson in Wasilla.
