The Square Rock School covers a range of disciplines
associated with live performance. This includes
musical composition, team building, choosing and
maintaining instruments, stage craft, sound and light,
engineering, recording and production, sound
recording and mixing, Djing, mixing, sampling and
performance, plus workshops on the music business,
self-promoting and getting a gig.
The course is instructed by professional music tutors
and technical staff.
The course finishes with an evening performance at
The Square to which admission is £5
and open to all ages.
Videos and Cds of the performance are available to
purchase and can be ordered on the night.

About me: The Square Rock School is a youth music project
organized by the Friends of Rock School and Essex County Council Youth Service. It is funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Youth Opportunities Fund. It is aimed at
introducing young people to live musical performance
and the technology surrounding it from basic skills
to an advanced level.

The Rock School takes place at The Square,
Fourth Avenue, Harlow.
Who I'd like to meet: No formal qualifications are needed, neither is the
ability to read music. However it is important that you
attend thecourse most suited to your needs. To ensure
this we normally have an assessment evening to make
sure thatyou attend the right course for your needs.
This thursday we have our gig in The Rock Contest and The Square, Harlow. Come down and show your support, its our very first gig and we need all the support we can get to go through to the next round. Doors are at 8 and its £5 to get in.
