Hailing from Saskatoon SK, 5 piece metal act, Harmful Effects, bring something old and something new to the table, with a sound that blends the individual writing styles of each band member and comes out with a Metal that appeals to fans of all styles of the genre. Diversity in each song with heavy metal growls, clean vocals and melodies, lyrics, riffs, drum fills all deeply infused with the passion that each band member has for music make this band stand out amongst their peers.

May 2010 saw the release of their debut album “The Rising”. Each song on The Rising has a different vibe, and yet they fuse together without feeling random. This effect is intentional, as during pre-production every transition between songs and even the intro and outro were meticulously combed over. Harmful Effects set out to create something that would catch the attention of music fans, not just metal fans.

From placing second in a local Band Warz competition early in their formation to sharing the stage with acts like Baptized in Blood, Protest the Hero & Maylene & the Sons of Disaster, the band’s determination to succeed proves itself time and time again. Ready for the next phase in their career, Harmful Effects is reaching beyond their Saskatchewan borders in the coming year, heading out on their first Canadian tour. The same passion and drive that saw them overcome 3 hour distances between band members will see them on the road bringing their brand of Metal to new fans everywhere.
