"Blue Vinyl Freaks" (2005 - )
Die mit Hombre Hannes gegründete Band spielt einen unverkennbaren Mix aus Rock'n'Roll, Blues und Hillbilly. Die produzierte bislang eine CD und spielte bereits in den USA.
"The Lubbocks" (2007 - )
Gemeinsam mit einigen Vertretern der Berliner Rootsmusic Scene habe ich enen lang gehegten Wunsch als Bandleader realisiert. Die Band spielt Honky Tonkin' Country Music.
"Little Neal & The Blue Flames" (2009 -)
Die seit 1996 bestehende Band überzeugt ein internationales Publikum mit ihrem authentischen 50's Rock'n'Roll. Hier darf ich seit 2009 Harmonika und Gitarre spielen.

Amerikanische Roots Music hat mich schon seit frühester Kindheit fasziniert. Sicherlich spielte dabei der Einfluss meiner Eltern eine wichtige Rolle, die -selber mit Rock'n'Roll aufgewachsen- mich mit dieser Musik in Berührung brachten. Die Schallplattensammlung meines Vaters (Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, Blues, Jazz, Soul ... und vorallem Country) war eine Quelle der Erleuchtung für mich. Abseits aktueller musikalischer Strömungen der damaligen Zeit kam allenfalls AFN oder BFBS für musikalische Studien in Betracht.
So ist es nicht verwunderlich das ich heute noch ganz besonders Rockabilly, Rock'n'Roll, Blues und Country mag. Neben der tiefen Liebe zu dieser Musik, ist dies auch die Grundlage meines eigenen musikalischen Schaffens.
Ich spiele seit über 20 Jahren (Blues)-Mundharmonika und greife auch gerne mal zur (E-)Gitarre, aber meine erste Band "Magic and his Retro-Rockets" gründete ich erst 1999. Dort sammelte ich auch meine Erfahrungen als Sänger und Frontmann.
Heute spiele und singe ich in verschiedenen Formationen auf der Bühne oder im Studio. Dabei durfte ich auch Legenden, wie Wanda Jackson, als Musiker begleiten.

As a son of a record collector he was raised with american roots music, like country, rockabilly, rock'n'roll and blues. That helps him out today to feel comfortable as a performer and musician to lots of different roots music styles.
During 20 years he developed his unique blues harmonica style.
In 1999 he recruited his first band "Magic and his Retro-Rockets". The band that he started with guitar maestro and best friend Markus became known for a authentic 1950's Rock'n'Roll Show. The set was very well spiced with some hot boppin' rockabilly, swingin' Jump Blues and even some Hillbilly and Country. Magic is the frontman, singer and harmonica/guitar soloist. The 4-piece band played 6 years with the same lineup and recorded 2 CDs. Unfortunately Markus moved to another town and the band is still looking for a new guitar maestro, who is able to cover so many different styles.

Throughout this time he started joining live- and studio projects as a blues harmonica player with many bands/friends.
In 2005 he joined The Blue Vinyl Freaks, another 5-piece Roots Music Band from Berlin (Germany). The band toured the US in 2006

You need to check out the new Victoria "Blowbox" Harp amp! I was instrumental in designing and getting into their line of top shelf amps. Go to youtube and search me "James Reeser" and there are a couple of recent vids featuring it.
It is a 45 watt 2X8 amp. It looks like a tweed head but yes it has 2 8" speakers in it. No one can believe such a fat rich tone comes from a little amp. It is versatile... light weight... It can be plugged into any speaker cab as it has 2, 4 and 8 ohm output taps. It also has a switch that makes it either a stock 59 Bassman if that is your tone (also for guitar if desired) or flip the switch for the harp special circuits and rich fat harp tone! And yes has plenty of power as a stand alone to keep up with just about any band.
