Chi sono: I draw as much from feeling and imagination, as I do the objective world. I regularly record my dreams and have more recently begun using this as basis for a visual narrative within my paintings. I have long been interested in the relationship between poetry and painting, especially when viewed through the mythical lenses of Apollo and Dionysus. It just feels like the most ideal means of articulating my own life experiences and to connect with others at a visceral level. I aim to acknowledge what Jung called the, “Shadow World” as being the domain of the Numinous (or spirit), which mediates or subjectifies experience with the outside world. It brings us into being but we do not always have control (and never complete control) over reality, emotion and experience. For me, the idea of the Numinous lies at the very essence of poetry and abstract painting, as much as it does the individual for it embodies the poetic kinesis interconnecting the physical, the psychical and the spiritual.
