HARM, ORIGINALLY STARTED AS A JAM SESSION BETWEEN 4 FRIENDS ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO,IN A DIRTY OLD SHED JUST OUT OF TIMARU, A LOT OF TIME WAS SPENT JAMMING AND HAVING COUPIOUS AMOUNTS OF FUN NOT TO MENTION VERY RED EYES AND RINGING EARS,WE ALL REALISED,WITH THANKS TO MARK RYDER THAT AS A BUNCH OF GUYS WE ACTUALLY HAD A GOOD SOUND HAPPENING, IT WAS ENERGETIC,AND HARD ROCK,SO WE PUTA LOT OF PRACTICE TOGETHER AND WORKED ON SOME ORIGINAL IDEAS,OUR FIRST COUPLE OF GIGS WE HIT PEOPLE WITH A SELECTION OF COVERS AND WE STARED TO SNEAK OUR ORIGINALS IN,THE LISTNERS GAVE US GREAT FEED BACK FOR WHAT WE WERE DOING,
OUR SOUND EVOLVED A LOT OVER THE YEARS,WITH THE LOSS OF OUR ORIGINAL DRUMMER AARON DAVIS WE HAD A FEW SET BACKS,MARK INTRODUCED RICHARD SIMPSON,WHO WITH HIS POWERFUL ROCK STYLE STEPPED IN AND STEPPED OUR GAME UP WITH HIS PRECISE ENERGETIC DRUMMING,WE REMAINED AS A 4 PEICE PROGRESSIVE ROCK BAND FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS,AND ALTHOUGH SOME OF THE BOYS WENT VENTUREING ACROSS THE DITCH,THE DRIVE AND PASSION WAS STILL STRONG,EVENTUALLY WE PUT NEW IDEAS TOGETHER AND DIVERSIFIED OUR SOUND,WITH MUSICAL ROOTS DEEPLY PLANTED IN 70,S ROCK,JAZZ,FUNK,SOUL,HARD ROCK & HEAVY METAL,IN RECENT TIMES WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING AROUND WITH ROOTS REGGAE SOUNDS.
WE MADE A DECISION TO AMALGAMATE WITH 2 VERY TALENTED LOCAL MUSICIANS,ONE OF WHOM HAS BEEN PLAYING AS A SOLO ARTIST AND ALSO IN NUMEROUS BANDS OVER THE YEARS ENTER- MARK (RANGI) GILLESPIE FOUNDER OF" TH RANGLERS" AND ALSO THE VERY TALENTED GUITARIST BRUCE TUTTEN,WHO HAS ALSO PLAYED IN A NUMBER OF BANDS LOCALLY THROUGH OUT THE YEARS,RANGI AND BRUCE HAVE BEEN PLAYING MUSIC TOGETHER WORKING ON RANGIS ORIGINAL SONGS,WITH THE HELP OF MARK RYDER BRINGING AND COMBINING" HARM" AND "TH RANGLERS "TOGETHER AS 2 BANDS WITH THE SAME MEMBERS IT GIVES US THE LIGHT AND DARK SHOW,CHECK TH'RANGLERS OUT IN OUR FRIENDS LIST FOR A TASTE OF THE LIGHT SHOW.
SO COLECTIVLEY HARM ARE SIX MEMBERS STRONG AND NOW WITH HADLIEGH ON KEY BOARDS AND 2 GUITARISTS A MULTITUDE OF VOCALS WE HAVE EVOLVED EVEN FURTHER THAN ANY OF US WOULD EVER HAVE IMAGINED,THE BOYS HAVE BEEN HARD OUT AT PRACTISE GETTING UP TO SPEED ,AND WE ARE NOW READY TO HIT THE GIG CIRCUT AGAIN, OUR DEBUT ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED MAY 2007 IN TIME FOR NEW ZEALAND MUSIC MONTH WITH 12 STRONG TRACKS MIXED LOCALLY BY MARK RYDER AND RICHARD (STYX) HOWIE OF AUDIO DYNAMITE ,AND TAKEN OFF SHORE TO STUDIO 301 (AUSTRALLIA) FOR THE MASTERING PROCESS, ITS EXCITING TIMES AND WE ARE ALL LOOKING FOWARD TO GETTING TO SEE OUR AWESOME COUNTRY AND TO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY OUR SOUND TO NEW ZEALAND BOTH AS HARM AND TH'RANGLERS AND NOT TO MENTION GETTING TO INTERACT WITH OTHER TALENTED NEW ZEALAND BANDS/MUSICIANS.
