Destiny, peforming/ recording artist/ composer began her musical journey
14 years ago. Known as the Harpist from the Hood, Destiny currently rewrites classical and and modern recordings for vocals and harp. Her first introduction to the Harp was at nine years old, however, a trip to Belgium as an adult reintroduced her to the mother of the modern harp-- The Kora. 'I heard an album featuring the Kora and was mesmerized by the sound'.. Harp lesson began soon after Destiny's 'acoustic jazz classical style' was born.
Destiny has performed: Concert with Jazz Trumpeter Eddie Gayle, a concert collaboration of the compositions of John Coltrane and Elvin Jones at Yoshis Jazz & Supper Club, ESSENCE Magazine Women Who Are Shaping the World Leadership Summit and the Monterey Jazz Festival.
2004/ 2005 Destiny's annual 'Friends & Family Tour' in collaboration with Triplett Harps Co. Highlights from the tour: Jam Session at the African American Museum in Detriot, MI, Jazz sessions at Soul Vegetarian Chicago, DC and Maryland locations and a local library tour of the San Francisco Librairies. Destiny establishce a new Harp presence at the NAMM show 2005 with their first Triplett Harp Acoustic/ Electric 38 string Neo Celtic Harp- Triplett collaborated with Highlander Musical Audio Product.
Destiny also has a 3 projects: ' A band of Angels-- a musical menagerie of intrumentalist, S.O.N.G/ Strings of a Nubian Groove nubian string quartet, and MASALA a new vision of touch and sound.
