Jonathan Harris

About me:

Background After graduating from Liverpool University with a degree in Criminology and Sociology, Jonathan has worked in the camera department on a multitude of professional Award Winning and UK Film Council funded short films in various roles including D.O.P. His formative yet stylistic use of composition and lighting led him to Direct and Produce two broadcast Music Videos that have been screened on MTV2, E4 Music and the Topshop clothing stores, nationally. Despite his love for photography and film production, Jonathan sort to explore the process of directing actors. Having spent a year shadowing noted theatre director Darren Gordon, studying method acting and naturalism, Jonathan has since gone on to direct two plays, ‘A Clockwork Orange’, (Anthony Burgess), and ‘Treatment’, (Jonathan Moore). Current Projects Jonathan has shot and is currently Co-Producing the low budget feature film, ‘Lookin’ For Lucky’, (Albino Injun Productions). This production is currently in the latter stages of post-production and is being readied for its market presence. After forming a strong business relationship with, Director / Producer, Chris Leonard on the project, they have since formed Concept Pictures. Currently being mentored by industry veteran, Andrew Patrick, Concept Pictures aims to create market led, genre based films that have critical and artistic integrity. Built on a foundation of wanting to provide audiences with truly original cinematic experiences, Jonathan and Chris are currently producing the short film project THE CULL, (details of which can be found overleaf). This will not only act as the calling card for the company, but as a basis on which to gain funding for a Feature Film of the same concept. Jonathan is currently being supported by Northwest Vision and Media through media workshops and industry mentors. He is also an attendee of this years’ Berlinale Talent Campus (08). Future Jonathan is extremely committed to further developing his skills as a film-maker and as a photographer. As such, he will continue to hone his visual style through working as D.O.P on short film projects as well as continuing to learn through working with more established D.O.Ps’ in their Camera Departments. Jonathan also seeks to develop his skills as a director through the theatre company he works for as well as directing Concept Pictures’ first short film.
