Movies
The Godfather I and II, classic horror films, anything gripping and action packed will usually do...
Television
Battlestar Gallactica! That show rocks...I'm also a fan of "Breaking Bad" on AMC, Bryan Cranston is brilliant in it.
Books
I LOVE BOOKS, especially crime fiction, some contemporary horror fiction, all the early Stephen King, good suspense and thriller novels, military history (WW2, Viet Nam and Civil War in particular) also biographies. I follow politics perhaps a bit too closely for my own good, especially my blood pressure...
Heroes
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jesus Christ, Thomas Jefferson
Hello, I write novels and screenplays. I'm a counselor in private practice, and a very fortunate husband and father. I have been sober since January 10, 1986. I've also been an actor, a country music artist in Switzerland (with my ex-wife Suzanne Klee), an Emmy-nominated songwriter, a music publisher, a VP of Carolco Pictures and worked as a free-lance Music Supervisor on films such as Basic Instinct and Universal Soldier.
Going back a few years, my first mystery MEMORIAL DAY (A Mick Callahan Novel)
takes place in fictional Dry Wells, Nevada and features a recovering alcoholic talk show host. New Mystery Reader called it "wry, bittersweet and altogether touching," Library Journal praised it as "memorable," and Booklist said of my amateur sleuth Mick Callahan, "Lets hope he's around for a long run." The sequel, EYE OF THE BURNING MAN (A Mick Callahan Novel)
was released in November, 2005. Publisher's Weekly said: "Fast-paced and an easy read...Mick is convincingly righteous, vengeful and wisecracking in this second outing." Mystery Scene wrote: "The real strength of this book is in its central characters flawed, human, often funny, sometimes tragic and the relationships among them."
"ONE OF THE WICKED (A MICK CALLAHAN NOVEL)" has been scheduled for a hardcover release in November of 2008.
A thriller entitled THE PRESSURE OF DARKNESS
came out in 2006. I'm very proud of this one. You can order by clicking on the banner. The brilliant Ken Bruen
(Author of The Dramatist and The Guards) said,
"Wondrous! If Michael Herr, David Morrell and Robert Stone wrote a book together, this would be it. The Pressure of Darkness is a tremendous novel that works on every level."
J.A. Konrath (Author of the Lt. Jacqueline Jack Daniels Series) writes
"Gritty, absorbing, and wonderfully written---Shannon grabs you by the short hairs and tugs until you scream. This is easily one of the best thrillers of the year."
Gregg Hurwitz (Tim Rackley novels) opines "A blend of horror, Eastern philosophy, Spec Ops thriller, and virus white-knuckler, The Pressure of Darkness keeps the pages turning as fast as your hands can move. Strap in and read fast, or this one'll leave without you."
Okay, if you're a horror fan you're probably wondering what happened to my earlier works. My debut novel was the very campy NIGHT OF THE BEAST--the first in a pulp trilogy set in northeastern Nevada. NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF won the small-press Tombstone Award for Best Novel. The final book, a limited edition hardcover called NIGHT OF THE DAEMON, sold out in 48 hours. Unfortunately, the first two novels remain out of print, and can be difficult to find except used or at auction via EBay. However, as stated earlier, the third has been re-titled "DAEMON" and is available in affaordable trade paperback from DELIRIUM BOOKS . If you enjoy horror, it is guaranteed to keep you up at night. "DAEMON" can also be ordered at a discount via Amazon.com.
If you enjoy horror movies, I scripted the indie film DEAD AND GONE (a spooky but funny homage to classic movies like the 'Evil Dead' series) and also played a bit part as the Sheriff.
The cast includes Quentin Jones, Kathrin Bates, Kyle Gass of Tenacious D, Chris Bruno of TV's "Dead Zone," rocker Ben Moody and scream queen Felissa Rose. The movie will be out on DVD in July, 2008. A novel version will follow come August from DELIRIUM BOOKS. Check out the website at DEAD AND GONE and some cool coverage by industry magazine leader FANGORIA
I believe Americans must come together, change direction, take better care of our men and women in uniform and immediately prosecute the corrupt politicians and sociopathic corporations currently engaged in war profiteering. Yes, we can. And thanks for stopping by!
Who I'd like to meet: Well, I'm after new readers (obviously) but also want to meet fellow book and movie fiends, progressive thinkers, sober folks and cat lovers. My online time is limited due to writing obligations, but the more the merrier...
Just making the rounds to all of For Love & Stacie's friends here on MySpace letting you know that the full movie is now online in full for free. Hope you love it and and really hope you'll help us out by spreading it around! Thanks so much!

Hi, please go to my blog about the young man with cancer and leave an encouraging comment. He reads my blogs and will be encouraged by knowing that there are some loving and compassionate people in the world who care enough to reach out to him and offer their support. And if you can find the time, please spread the word and invite others to come and comment about this brave young man facing death. Of course if you're too busy, I understand, and thanks anyway. Thank you for your time and attention. Froggy.
If you would like to read a sample of one of the stories from ISLINGTON CROCODILES’ you can do that now as one of the stories is posted on the Islington Crocodiles blog page. RAIDERS is the disturbing story of Barwise and Micky.
As Graham Joyce says in his foreword to ISLINGTON CROCODILES, ‘This is the edge.’
On page 55 of FANGORIA #284, our 30th Anniversary Issue, cover artist and horror legend Clive Barker dropped some details on the possibility of unearthing the lost footage from his 1990 film, NIGHTBREED (pictured left on the cover of FANGORIA #90).
"I have a friend, Mark Miller, who came to me and said, 'I want to pursue the missing Nightbreed material. I have some time off from my work. I want to do this.' I said, 'Well, there's no money, Mark. There's nothing in it for you except a huge thanks from me and from many, many, many fans if you were to be successful..."
Tonight I received an email with more details on the "missing" footage, and how YOU can help it to be seen for the very first time... Phil and Sarah Stokes from Clive Barker's official website have been in contact with Mark Miller, and have discovered that the lost footage was never lo
