About me:

Our Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 group operated by President Phillip Kellerman and a Board of Directors with over 80 years in migrant education and human services. As of September 27, 2007, the Harvest of Hope Foundation has distributed over $717,000 to migrant farm workers and families around the country for repairs to vehicles, housing, utilities, medical services and bills, food, clothing, funeral expenses and tuition for migrant students attending college. In addition, the Foundation has issued small grants to migrant-related support service organizations. The Harvest of Hope Foundation serves to: * Support migrant farmworkers and their families with emergency aid; * Issue small grants to programs that assist migrant families; * Provide financial aid to migrant students attending college via the Paths To Scholarships Fund; * Heighten awareness of the plight of migrant farmworkers in the country; * Coordinate with agencies assisting migrant families and their children with education, immunizations and medical needs, and social services. Thanks to an inheritance from his grandmother, Dr. Helen Zand, Phil Kellerman, established the Harvest of Hope Foundation in 1997 as a result of responding to calls from migrant farm workers and families via the National Migrant Education Hotline. The Foundation was developed to provide financial help, often unavailable at the federal, state and local level, to migrant farm workers and families around the country.

Phil Kellerman has been in migrant education since 1989 with the ESCORT Migrant Education Program, based at the New York State University College at Oneonta. Phil also was a special education teacher in Miami, Florida for six years. He has a B.A. in Special Education/Elementary Education and an M.A. in Special Education.

Recently, the Foundation along with No Idea Records of Gainesville, Fl took part in the First Annual Harvest of Hope Music and Art Festival at the St. Johns County Fair Grounds in St. Augustine, Florida.
