Welcome to the MySpace music page of Harvey Welsh. Harvey has been a performer, songwriter, music composer and producer for many years. He has worked in the film and recording industry both here in Australia and abroad, and has had his music works and scores played and published in many countries around the world. He has also co-written with some great recording artists in Australia and oversea's. Harvey's career began in country Victoria. He soon moved to Melbourne where he started to carve a Film and Television career at Swinburn, studying film, television and music. It was from here that he began working for Crawford Productions as a sound recordist on the Australian television series "Homicide". During this time Harvey was busy learning to play guitar, which quickly born a further passion for music to him. In 1972 he travelled to Papua New Guinea for adventure and the chance to make enough money to travel to Europe where he wished to continue studying music. His journey quickly took him and his partner to Barcelona and then onto Santa Ponsa on the island of Majorca. Music and guitar studying going well, he and his partner lived in Spain for some time, where Harvey began to write and compose music. Later returning to Papua New Guinea, he began teaching guitar and eventually started a recording studio where he recorded and produced over 200 albums for many Papuan and New Guinea groups, both traditional and modern. In the eighties with two children, he and his partner returned to Australia where he began working in film again, as a music composer. Since, Harvey has gone on to work with , Rolf Harris, Barry Humphries, Billy Thorpe, Jack Thompson, John Mellion, Leonard Teale and played on, produced and recorded the Bob Brown hit, "Home Among The Gum Tree's", and also had one of his songs performed by Andrea LeRue. He went on to compose music for many films, show reels, commercials and documentaries for ABC Television, The VFL, The Film and Sound Archives, A.C.T. Tourism, Australian National Parks and Wildlife, and his musical compositions for the hit documentary Series, "Secret Animals" went on to be screened in over 55 countries worldwide. Harvey also composed the sound recording for Australian artists Clifton Pugh (1924-1990), documentary, titled, "The Life And Death Of A River". The compact disk is available, From the National Gallery of Australia - and National Gallery of Australia Research Library collection. Harvey also composed music for the ABC documentary "Black Gold, Kindred Spirits". He was the founder and original member of the Australian band, Townhouse Sardines. Harvey recently wrote and completed the musical score and songs for the rock opera stage play, "Adam & Eve - A Tale", with Australian lyricist and writer Michael J Peade who has worked with many artists around the world, including Russian composer, Vybornova Kristina, Richard Johnstone UK and pop/rock band SCHISM from the UK/Australia. Harvey is currently working on his second musical stage play with Michael, titled, "The Pink Caravan". He has received many Gold Awards for his music compositions, both in Australia and other countries. Harvey continues to compose music for film, write songs and produce music for bands, musicians and covers all genres. He is a member of the Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA/AMCOS).
