7:30-10:30 PM
Bradford Playhouse, 4-12 Chapel Street, BD1 5DL
Don't just sit on it, hatch it.
Call for Submissions for November event:
Bradford's finest experimental arts showcase has brought its unique blend of short films, performance, interactive happenings, installation and music to Bradford over the last year, and we want you to be part of it!
The next Hatch is approaching on the 5th of November for a special “first birthday” celebration at the Bradford Playhouse! We are looking for work from filmmakers, DJs, musicians, comedians, performers, poets, dancers and artists working in installation or time-based artforms. This is an opportunity to workshop new work and also to showcase work already completed. Each event is completely unique as it's all up to what YOU submit.
Completed original work or proposals for work in progress must be submitted by 6 PM on Friday, 16th October 2009 to Alissa Juvan at Fabric, Yorkshire Craft Centre, Carlton Street, Bradford BD7 1AY or via email on a.juvan@bradfordcollege.ac.uk, along with a completed (short!) submission form, detailing length of piece and technical requirements, if needed.
Work will be selected by a curatorial committee, but this doesn't mean that if your ideas are in the embryonic stages that you can't submit!
Download a submission form from the Creative Bradford website.

John Dorr: [http://www.myspace.com/johndorrmusic]
'John Dorr is a solo artist based in the moors somewhere between Leeds and Manchester. He writes songs from fragments of melodies/beats/drones/swells which are looped then built upon with more layers to create music that can either caress your soul into a dreamlike state or disturb your ears with intense walls of sound. Every sound is made from his voice or Fender Telecaster and can be recreated perfectly live. His live performances are thought provoking and intense, with a string of gigs played to enthusiastic crowds.' (Sandman Magazine reviewing ' John's cd Manna')

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act. The band is currently looking for gigs from June 2009 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
