We reserve the right to toss you if you (or your children) are disruptive. 3. Smoking of any ilk beyond guitar strings is outdoors only. We are a smoke free, animal free home. 4. Please note: "HatCreek Lodge Home Concerts" is simply the name we choose to describe our private parties, in our private home. These parties are NOT a business nor are they a business related activity. They are strictly a hobby for us, and are simply gatherings of our friends and guests to enjoy live acoustic music, fellowship, some refreshments and fun. Our concert parties are officially free (or else it might be considered a business), although voluntary contributions are accepted at the party on behalf of the artists. 100% of all contributions go directly to the performers. PLEASE NOTE: 1. This is a public venue - in the respect that you don't need an invitation to come. Send me a message with any questions at hatcreekhomeconcerts@yahoo.com. 2. We do NOT take reservations - it's first come, first seated...and we'll do our best to have adequate seating for everybody. 3. We do NOT sell tickets. All money collected is a voluntary donation.    About Hat Creek Home Concerts
border=0
Photobucket Mark B. and Piper Leigh-Bowling are singer/songwriters who have a passion for sharing music with their community. Artists from around the globe are discovering that house concerts are a great alternative to performing in noisy coffeehouses and bars. Music fans will discover that live music is something to be cherished, not stumbled upon while ordering a cup of coffee. They will re-learn to listen to the unique and personal, instead of bobbing their heads to the mainstream. House concerts are one of the most important trends in independent music today. Musicians and artists are discovering a great way to increase their income and to connect with new audiences - performing in people's homes. There's just something about house concerts. The intimacy allows a deeper connection to the audience, which often leads to strong merchandise sales and lifelong fans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INFORMATION FOR MUSICIANS * We are interested in booking Roots/Americana artists. That's pretty vague, huh? We love Folk, Blues, Soul, Bluegrass, Country - preferably some concoction of all the above. Singer Songwriters with something to say - artists of conscience - gets us everytime. * We host about once a month, sometimes more if we have touring artists with a specific timeline to work with. We are a new series and we're still building our audience base so we appreciate when our artists can help fill the house with their local contacts. I guess we are at the awkward teenage stage where we want and need to book great artists so our folks will keep coming back and our audience will build, but we can't always provide a full house for our artists yet. 45 to 50 is our capacity in the living room. We have a backyard amphitheater for nice weather and can accommodate a much larger audience. * We have an experienced sound person and excellent sound equipment. We pride ourselves in supplying whatever the artist needs to sound their best. * Because we are new, we still have a long wishlist of favorite artists we hope to book. But we love to discover new artists that blow us away. I will review your website, but I also admit that receiving a CD or Press Kit will tend to move you up our list of potential artists if we like your music. If you are playing in the area, by all means let us know. A live listen can be a deal maker in a hurry. With these facts in mind, we are always open to hearing from musicians. If we are booked up or I don't think your music is a good fit for HatCreek Lodge, I'll be up front and wish you all the best. If we enjoy your music, and you are willing to be patient and flexible, chances are we will see you in our living room at some point. * We strongly encourage merch sales for our artists, providing attractive displays and personal testimony to your music. Please bring your CDs and be willing to sign them for our guests. * We usually host on Thursday evenings. * We have a guestroom and bath for the use of our artists if they wish to stay overnight. We are happy to accommodate food and beverage requests/restrictions so your visit to HatCreek Lodge is as enjoyable as possible. We find it highly rewarding to give back to the artists whose music so enriches our lives. * Unfortunately, we are not in the position to be able to offer guarantees. What we do guarantee is our best effort to fill the house, and an evening of great hospitality from music lovers who LISTEN and revere what you do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is the way we want to hear the music we love. This is how we want to give back to the artists who give us so much joy with their music. This is how we want to spend an evening with friends and fellow music lovers at least once a month. HatCreek Lodge is our own personal statement to music 'for the sake of the song' and not as background noise for socializing. Listening is our weapon of choice and you are all invited to join the revolution!

Hi,
   Just tell him that I'm bouncing on the trampoline with Lenny (My Ohio Grandson)and promise to be back next year. In the meantime if he wants, he can watch my DVD. I know it's not as good as Barney but, I too, am kind of a dinosaur!
   I miss you guys too!

I enjoyed my visit to Ark City for a Hat Creek Home Concert.  I encourage any artist to find a spot in your calendar for a stop here.  You'll get a warm welcome and a visit with some great folks.

We do one after every concert. If there more than about 5 people, the performers sit it out and listen, or if there's only a couple of folks in the circle, the performers join in. I encourage the audience to stick for it, but our concerts are generally on Sunday nights, so people have to get home. But, the circles can last into the wee hours, it's an addiction, song after song!

Mark & Piper:

Thanks for finding us on MySpace. Thanks also, and probably more importantly, for helping keep music alive and real. There's nothing quite like listening to an exceptional singer-songerwriter in an intimate atmosphere. Keep spreading the word.

Piper & Mark, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed Thursday night! You guys have a great home concert venue. I predict you will soon outgrow your living room and be forced to buy a concert hall.

Hello!

We have been trying to get the word out to all our friends, particularly on myspace about our last ditch efforts to save the shelter and our home.
We are planning an auction of celebrity memorabilia, and trying to raise cash donations as we are a federally recognized tax deductible charity, plus trying to figure out how to get out of foreclosure while caring for sixty plus dogs, some feral cats, a parrot and a pony!

We've saved close to two thousand animals and rehabilitated them and found their forever homes over the last fourteen years. All we want to do is get the debts paid and carry on saving dogs and supporting great music.
Any donations of cash, memorabilia, a club benefit or manpower desperately needed asap!

Peace and Thanks,

Randy and Suzie Long
