Sounds Like
It sounds like you're the kind of person who would love our music, so come down to Nick's some Wednesday and find out for yourself.
Hat On, Drinking Wine first appeared on the Worcester music scene in April of 2007, performing a two-hour set of original music at a tiny coffee shop on the west side of the city. Since then, the band’s repertoire of songs has expanded exponentially, and they have appeared all over the city and region, performing at bars, music clubs, private functions and benefits, and outdoor festivals. Since May of 2008, the band has played a weekly show on Wednesday nights at Nick’s Bar and Restaurant on Millbury St., just off Worcester’s famous Kelley Square. While enjoying great beer and German food, fans can catch the band at Nick’s every week for their favorite HODW originals and for an eclectic list of covers from artists like Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Wilco, the Decemberists, the Pogues, and many more. The band’s lineup consists of Jarrett Conner on drums; Jared Forgues on bass and mandolin; Jim Lang on piano, accordion, and tin whistle; Matt Robert on electric and acoustic guitar, harmonica, and vocals; and Ed Whalen on acoustic guitar and vocals. HODW writes and plays as a true ensemble, with all members of the band contributing to the writing and arranging of the songs, and with instruments and lead vocals swapping around from song to song. The sound is American roots, with traces of blues, folk, reggae, and traditional Irish music. The band's self-titled debut is available on itunes, Rhapsody, CD Baby, Amazon, and pretty much wherever else you buy your music.

Love your new CD. "House on Lee Street" was one I had not heard before. Great song. I love everything about it -- the lyrics, the instrumentation, how the story unfolds.
Hey thanks for the add, I like the tunes. And I know Ed Whalen from Forrest Grove -- howya doin? Hope to see you guys play sometime. If you haven't already, check out our music on our page. Take care.
Hi Jim, Yes, that was Armenian Lullaby you heard us do last night at Sahara. Thanks for the nice comment, and enjoyed seeing you and your wife there last night. Thanks for your support. It means a great deal to us. Hope to see you soon, again! Keep rockin!! Ed
