Tikiphiles Unite!
Here are a few ramblings about myself...
I an easy going guy, into the tiki scene. Interested in the ukelele and that bongo beat. I may have been a Beat-nik in my other life. I also finally started collecting mugs a year ago, so much fun! Love the beach and playing in the sand.. Married a wahine from Oahu, and she is the best! Got a couple of boys to keep me busy, but still make time to draw and sketch and occasionally carve, and am trying the tiki carving thing. I also occasionally make animated gifs and do a little digital art. In my younger days collected dragons and mermaids, hmm strange combination...
I love the 80's music and exotic tunes and partake in the occasional tropical beverage. Love that rum and margaritas are oh so nice... Is it taboo to have a margarita in a tiki mug? ... Hmmm, some research may be order... Where is my favorite mug?
Stumbled upon TikiBar TV podcasts around podcast number 3 and think it is hilarious! It only verified for my wife that I'm a bit off... If you haven't seen them, you missing out, like a tropical drink without the umbrella! Unthinkable!!

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
