This is a bit from almost two years ago. Just a gag teaser for Resident Evil: Apocolypse. This one really was done as a joke. Just the same it turned out to be a fun study in rythem and textures.

This was shot at the university during lab hours. The actual effect was produced by hand painting - using a graphics tablet - each lighting stroke. In the original footage submitted the effect required more than 3000 frames to be painted. Following the final cut it was considerably reduced. The bit at the end where the man is gone and his coffe cup tumbles to the floor is an exercise in rotoscoping pure and simple. HH
