This unique business was Co-Founded by Stephanie
Lechniak-Cumerlato and Daniel Cumerlato in the Fall of 1999. Their inspiration
for Haunted Hamilton began many years ago when they first learned about
the Bellevue Mansion which stood atop the mountain brow. Since then they
have devoted much of their time and energy developing HH into a widespread
website. The goal is not only to report hauntings and folklore, but to also
call attention to the preservation of our historic structures and buildings.
Regular articles and stories are written and featured on the website as
well as the presentation of various ghostly events including haunted bus
tours, gala dinners, ghost investigations and camp fires. In January of
2005, Stephanie & Daniel's wedding was covered by the Hamilton Spectator
and doted as a "ghostly wedding"!

Yule logs were lit to honor Thor, the god of thunder, Feasting would continue until the log burned out, which could take as many as twelve days. As Northern Europe was the last part to Christianize, its pagan celebrations had a major influence on Christmas. Scandinavians still call Christmas Jul.Christmas is an annual holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. Christmas festivities often combine the commemoration of Jesus' birth with various secular customs, many of which have been influenced by earlier winter festivals, such as discussed above. The date of the celebration is traditional but it is not considered to be his actual date of birth. The word "Christmas" is a contraction of two words "Christ's mass" and is derived from the Middle English Christemasse and Old English Cristes mæsse, a phrase first recorded in 1038. Happy Holidays!
