we don't really have influences except:
suffering //
mankind's evil //
the power of electricity //
minor keys and sonic clusterfucks //
impressionistic tones //
makeup //
scarves //
flyswatters //
angular-shaped guitars //
shiny shit //
we think more bands should be original and not imitate others
Sounds Like
take the psycho-middle of "Whole Lotta Love", mix with Sabbath and Heart (backwards); add in the best of Dmitri Shostakovich, Debussy, Ravel, and Rimsky-Korsakov; add in Daisy Chainsaw, ELP, Charles Ives, wind-rattling-shutters, sounds of pain, three giant hams, blood and glitter, amplified angst, rare 1970s effects pedals, shiny fresh dimes, and The Night.
Stir barely, pour down a staircase, then ignite.
HERE ARE A FEW random videos of The Haunted Pussy in concert. Since they are an improvised fear-metal band, their shows vary quite a bit. Some are more heavy and intense; others are mellow and creepy and are missing a drummer. There are more videos on YouTube if you type em in and shit.

HAUNTED PUSSY
"Unplugged!!"
"Hey! Just as I was lamenting the unfortunate NY-to-LA weirdo migration of the past few years, this band appears and the reign of New York City nutcases continues! Half-naked girls in tattered costumes whispering, shrieking, burping, chanting gibberish, and making spooky ghost noises over creepy chimes, echo-y singing saw, and minimal guitar? Check. Elaborate backstory involving a baby ghost who protects its 13-year-old mother from rapists? Check. Oh, what’s that? They roam up and down Ludlow Street on weekends, doing guerilla performances to freak out the B&T crowd? Check and mate. God bless the loons." - JOHNNY NOSTALGIA
"Maybe the best psychedelic rock band since Pink Floyd" - Time Out NY
Haunted Pu-ssy is likely the world's finest histrionic fear-metal band.
Mix dark art metal with classical tone poems about ghost ra-pe; pour in some Human Theremin and operatic chick meltdowns; storms of jazzyavantgoth; and voila!
We perform mostly in NYC but want to get out of this police state. (help!) OUR LAST PAGE on myspace was deleted, and we fear it's because they do not like words involving sex parts b/c america loves freedom, they keep insisting.
NOTE: the above cuts of sound show a bit of diversity...
"Apparition Rising" is a straightforward (with subtle elasticizing drums) 'headbanger' while "Groaner" is a sad, lonely, creepy vignette. Meanwhile, "Have You Ever Been..." is us doing electrocrash maybe? We think it sounds too much like Killing Joke. The fourth cut is Mr. Brooke Shields on solo bowed acoustic guitar which sounds better than electric.
THE VOICE wrote: "spoken-word ghost stories into Diamanda Galas/MEredith Monk orgasmoans over weird-assed psycho-Frippertronic guitar-noodling noise for outer-space archery contests." and described the music as "skyrocket guitar scrawl" too in another review
TIME OUT wrote: "sounds like a field recording of an event that's part Bulgarian high-schooltalent show, part pagan ritual" and compared us to SUCKDOG.
GAWKER gave HP "Best Press Release EVER".
NYPRESS wrote: "genre-murdering longhairs in pink tights" and "coven of scary opera girls"
