To us as a band, seppuku--whether ordered as punishment or chosen in preference to a dishonorable death at the hands of an enemy--was unquestionable demonstration of our honor, courage, loyalty, and moral character through devotion to the music. The ritual for disenbowlment is to be performed calmly and without flinching. If condemned to death for failure in music, it is held to be a privilege to execute the sentence on one's own body rather than to be a disgrace and die at the hands of other bands with lesser talent. Although suicide is deplored in Haunting Oboe Music today, it does not have the sinful overtones that are common in the MTV programmed west, east, south, and north. People still kill themselves for failed businesses, involvement in love triangles, or even failing school examinations, death is still consider by many as better than dishonor. Born from dark sleep and broken dreams Haunting Oboe Music is the nightmare of six players. Formed through 6 different influences we are what the fuck sounds. Folk, experimentation, drowning our guilt, and good beats are the jambalaya for our stew. We dance with dirty devils. Enjoy the horror. This is our Poetry of War. We are Haunting Oboe Music.

In 2008 Haunting Oboe Music released 12 EPs, 1 for each month of the year. The project sent the band in many directions, provided many ups and downs, and turned out to be the best thing Haunting Oboe Music could have possibly done. The band is now more prepared than ever to take your face by storm.

My groin muscle is still sore! Bunch of out-of-shape bastards we are. But really the greatest wound I'm healing is the emotional trauma of getting schooled by Anthony "Peter Pan" Johnson. Jeez.
I was driving back home just now, listening to my Best Of Haunting Oboe mix CD and I came to a simple conclusion: Slavery In Space is the greatest song of all time.
