Hausmann grew up on a small island in the north sea called Norderney.
Regarding that the music scene wasn’t that big over there back then, lot’s of disco, funk and soul tapes recorded from the US radio stations have been the most important source for that kind of music in those days as you can imagine. Maybe be some of you remember Daftpunk`s legendary video “Music Sounds Better With You”. That was nearly the kind of way how he made his first dance music experiences.
Later on in the 80ties he took every chance to visit Hamburg. In the City he was confronted very intensively by Graffiti, Rap and Break-dance music. The music that hit him and influenced him first was the music of, Beat Street, Whodini, Wild Style, Melle Mel and the Furious Five, Afrika Bambaataa and the Soulsonic Force….
But the story continued and he started to buy records from Jackson 5, James Brown, Earth Wind and Fire, Zapp, Al Jearreau, Stevie Wonder, Mowtown Music,
Al Demeola, Level42, Prince, Sonny Rollins, Chuck Baker, Velvet Undeground, ACDC, The Beatles, Jimmi Hendrix, Shade, Cool & the Gang, Hall and Oates, Laid Back, The Style Council, Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire, Happy Mondays, Joy Division, Carl Craig, Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Kevin Saunderson, Mastwers at Work, Moodyman, Armand van Helden ,Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Nightmares on Wax…
On his Island Hausmann founded the “Clubsimulator”. Dj’s from all over, especially from the legendary “Evosonic” Radiostation Cologne were playing there and it was the only real house club that ever existed on Norderney. “Ostfriesenmischung” was another project and it still exists nowadays. It’s a collective of music people who invent illegal beach parties with a massive sound system somewhere on the north seacoast.
Now it’s all about the music. In The 90ties Hausmann moved to Hamburg and collaborated with different music projects especially with the electronic and Latin scene. Finally he is label head, artist, DJ and part of the WAS Crew. He runs the
Label Fresh Fish Records together with the columbian Paulo Olarte.
With ears trained through years of promotion and DJ experience, Hausmann expanded his abilities in managing the label and building his own studio and as a composer and producer.
