Haussmann Tree is the musical project put up by two French brothers as a result of their Beirut years and encounter with Lebanese artist and poet Tarek Joseph Chemaly, whose poems has inspired them these songs.
"Haussmann tree? Or is it Haussmann three? Whereas officially the band is a duo composed of Jeremie and Timothee Regnier, the third unofficial member is Tarek Joseph Chemaly or more specifically his poems rather than himself.
Indeed, the band started putting music to Chemaly's lyrics sometime in 2005, and after a gestation and maturation period the result shines the forms of sparkling gems reminiscent of golden-era pop.
The first outing of the band was a concert at the mythical "Le Chef" restaurant in Beirut, Lebanon, entitled "Arty Stotle and his Haussmann Tree Band: Live at the dinner table", this - and other feats of the band is documented in "Haussmann Tree: scenario for a movie shot in advance", an oblique treatement of the history of the duo filmed by Chemaly himself with the songs as heroes around which the whole components gravitate.
The places the Regniers and Chemaly used to hang out in may be forever changed or even closed, but the project goes on to new stratospheric heights." T.J.C
