Ross uses two different guitars during an average gig; a blonde USA Fender Telecaster and a Gibson Les Paul Classic. He plays them through a Marshall 2x12 combo and also has a variety of Boss pedals and a Jim Dunlop Wah to call upon at various times.
Although Calland is listed as being the rhythm guitarist of the band, he also does his fair share of lead and solo work, especially on the songs that Ross sings. Calland plays a Gibson Firebird through a Line 6 Combo and a Mesa Boogie 2x12 combo and with his Line 6 Delay pedal can produce some impressive sounds.
Bondy predominently plays a Gibson SG EB0 Shortscale Bass through an Ashdown amp. Now and again you'll hear him playing lead guitar on a few tracks, when he will use either an Epiphone Supernova Union Jack Noel Gallagher or his Gibson Les Paul Standard through an Orange OR50 Half Stack. He also has a ridiculously big pedal board which included an Ibanez ts-808, a Crowther Hotcake and a Jim Dunlop Slash Wah.
Paul is a quality drummer, as well as being a guitarist and a bassist. The founder of Ha'waysis, Paul briefly left the band after a spell on guitar due to work commitments but he's recently rejoined us to play drums. He plays a Yamaha kit and some of his drum solos and techniques have to be seen to be believed.
Ha'waysis are five lads from around the North East who wanted to get together and play music that they (and everyone else) knows and enjoys!!!! All five members are excellent, experienced musicians who have been
in various bands in the past. The idea to form the band was originally Paul Bradley's. He got in touch with Ross who dragged Gaz along to sing and Bondy came along to play the bass as Ross and Paul had already bagged the guitar parts. Eventually they found a drummer and we were off and running. Unfortunately for Paul, he never got to perform a gig with the original line-up of Ha'waysis because he had to move down south. Gaz mentioned his cousin could play guitar and before he knew it, Calland had been roped into joining the band!!! Bondy also mentioned that he had a brother in law who would do the sound and lighting for beer money so John became our sound tech. Paul's now living back up North and has rejoined the band to play drums , which means we've now had four different drummers (just like Oasis!!!)Ross has now moved up to Scotland to be a Fireman but still travels down when we have gigs (now that's what I call commitment!!!)
