Sample the awesome visual and sonic power of The Hawklords on the DVD of the Barney Bubbles Memorial Benefit Concert at London's 229 Club in 2009. Fronted with flamboyant charisma by Hawkwind founder-member Nik Turner and ex-Hawkwind vocalist Ron Tree, the band is dramatically driven by the cream of ex-Hawkind members - Dan Thomson, Ade Shaw, Alan Davey and Jerry Richards, with a widescreen wall of keyboard sounds provided by original Hawklords members Harvey Bainbridge and Steve Swindells. The DVD comes complete with lavish artwork by Hawk-family graphic legend, Bob Walker, in a triple fold-out digi-pack sleeve which includes a 12-page info booklet. This release, direct from the band, is presented in 16:9 widescreen picture aspect in region-free PAL format, with slamming, digitally recorded multi-track Hi-Fi sound. On-screen selection includes moving picture song menus and concert slideshows by John Chase, Adrian Arbib and Dave Easthope. Brilliant show at Liverpool tonite. Very tight, great fun. The whole band worked hard to deliver a great set, and a good sized audience showed their appreciation.
